Poke Survivor FAQ

Practical answers for your first expedition and your next account or build decision.

What kind of game is PokéSurvivor?

PokéSurvivor is a free browser survival game with creature partners, automatic attacks and roguelite upgrade choices. You control movement, choose the active move slot and decide how to build your partner during a run.

Do I have to download anything?

No download or installation is needed. Open the game in a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. Desktop uses keyboard controls; touch controls work best with your phone turned sideways.

Can I choose my starting partner?

Yes. Eight short survival-scenario questions suggest a partner, but the result is optional. Choose another to pick from the five starting partners. The current illustrated roster has five partners, three basic enemies, three elite forms and three bosses.

Do all of my moves attack at the same time?

Normally only the selected move slot fires automatically. Use 1–4 to select a slot, or Q and E to cycle. Move bonds can combine attacks so the moves in a linked slot fire together.

What do chests and level-ups give me?

Experience triggers a choice between upgrades such as a new move, a stronger move or a stat boost. Breakable chests drop rewards. Locked chests open when you stay nearby long enough; moving away reduces your opening progress.

Will my progress be saved?

Email and Google accounts sync collection progress, currency and permanent upgrades to Cloudflare D1, with a browser cache for reconnecting. Sign in with the same account on another device to restore progress. Guest progress is temporary.

Are these official Pokémon?

No. This independent edition uses 14 original fan-made creature designs, sometimes called Fakemon, with pixel artwork generated for the project. We are not affiliated with Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company. The game engine is adapted from MIT-licensed open-source code, with attribution in Credits & Licenses.

Can I create or customize a creature?

Player-created creatures and customization are planned for a later release. The current version uses a fixed roster of 14 creatures and does not accept image uploads. We will explain storage and sharing choices before any creation tools become available.

Is multiplayer available?

The current release is single-player. Online rooms are not connected yet. Accounts, cloud saves and a public leaderboard are available. You can share a link to the game, but it does not create a multiplayer session.

How does the leaderboard choose my best run?

Survival time comes first, then defeats and level. Each player appears once per period. Today and the Monday-start week use UTC. You must sign in and start the run online; guest runs and old local records do not qualify.

Can I change my public name and country?

Yes. Use the Account page to change them. The leaderboard shows the current profile name and selected country. Country is self-selected and is not a verified nationality.

Is my email visible to other players?

No. Your public profile shows your chosen player name and country. Your email, password hash and cloud save are private account data.

Can I recover a forgotten email-account password?

Password recovery and email verification are not available yet. Keep your game password safely. Google sign-in uses your Google account instead and does not give us its password.

Why does the game say my run is unranked?

A ranked run needs a signed-in account, a country on the profile and an online start. A connection problem can prevent the start or score submission. Cloud-save progress and leaderboard scores are stored separately.

Does the game use 3D models?

No. Characters and terrain are 2D sprites drawn on a Canvas. Shadows, layers and effects add depth, while the camera follows the player across generated map chunks.
