An independent creature game
PokéSurvivor at pokesurvivor.app is an independent browser game. This edition has 14 original fan-made creature designs, sometimes described as “Fakemon” or “fake Pokémon”, with AI-assisted artwork made for this project. They are not official Pokémon characters, products or releases. We are not affiliated with Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company, or with the operator of pokesurvivor.com.
Original artwork and writing do not mean every part of the software was built from scratch. Our game engine adapts MIT-licensed open-source code; its author and license are listed in Credits & licenses.
Local player profiles
Creating a local profile stores a player name, local login data, collection, currency, upgrades and game statistics in this browser’s site storage. The profile is not a cloud account and does not sync to another device. Settings such as audio volume and graphics preferences are also stored locally.
A local profile is a convenience for game progress, not a secure online identity. Use a game-only password rather than a password you use for another service. People with access to your browser’s local data may be able to inspect or modify the save.
Guest play
Guest progress is temporary. It does not create a persistent player profile. Device preferences may still remain in browser storage.
Delete or reset
You can delete a local profile through the game’s legal and privacy dialog. Clearing the website’s storage in your browser also removes saved profiles and preferences. Deletion cannot be recovered through this game, so only clear the data you intend to remove.
Network requests
The application serves game code and images. This release does not connect cloud accounts, multiplayer signalling or cloud leaderboards, and it does not display advertisements.
The public website is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes normal request information, including IP addresses and browser request headers, to deliver and protect the website. Hosting-level processing is separate from the local game save. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for its own practices.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, traffic sources, device and browser information, approximate location, engagement and game starts and finishes. A finished run can include its duration, level and defeat count. We do not send player names, passwords, quiz answers, saved profiles or creature collections to Google Analytics. Page URLs exclude query strings and fragments; incoming referrers are reduced to their website origin.
Where analytics is enabled, Google receives measurement requests and processes network information, including the request IP address, to provide the service. Analytics cookies distinguish browsers and sessions; we configure a 30-day cookie lifetime without extending it on each visit. Event-level and user-level data retention is set to two months without resetting on new activity; standard aggregate reports can remain available longer. We disable advertising storage, advertising personalization, Google signals, granular location collection and automatic form measurement. Google may process information outside your country. Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.
There is no cookie popup. Instead, we do not load Google Analytics for visits located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or when the hosting service cannot determine a country. Local development and preview sites are excluded. We also respect supported Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals.
You can turn off optional analytics for this browser below. This preference is stored locally and does not delete your game save. Removing the preference never overrides the region or browser-signal restrictions. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Future player customization
We plan to support player-created creatures and customization, with entries in a creature atlas. These features are not available in the current release, and the game does not currently accept player image uploads or publish player creations.
Before enabling these features, we will update this policy to explain what is uploaded, where it is stored, who can see it, how long it is retained and how players can remove it. Planned online rooms, leaderboards and cloud saves will also need updated information before they are enabled.
Website boundaries
Browser storage belongs to a website origin. Progress on localhost is separate from progress on pokesurvivor.app. Do not expect a save from a local preview, another hostname or another browser to appear automatically here.
